Chinese Journal of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics was founded in 1957 by Hsue-Shen Tsien, the first chief editor of the Journal. It is sponsored by Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS) and the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM). The former chief editors are Hsue-Shen Tsien, Yonghuai Guo, Zhemin Zheng, Tongji Lin, Kezhi Huang, Chengkang Wu, Ziqiang Wang, Wei Yang, Gengdong Cheng, Quanshui Zheng, Yuegang Wei, and the current chief editor is Xiyun Lu (University of Science and Technology of China).
Chinese Journal of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics is a comprehensive academic journal of mechanics, obtained the first National Journal Awards, the winner of 100 Key Journals, the 2nd China National Periodical Award, the 60 Years of Journal of Republic (the only selection of mechanics), the 100 Excellent Academic Journal Award in China, the top 50 China association for science and technology, the top 100 national Sci-tech journals, the top 100 digital influence and so on many honors.
Chinese Journal of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics covers theoretical, methodological and experimental research in all fields of theoretical and applied mechanics. The journal encourages the publication of interdisciplinary research results related to mechanics, and strives to become a bridge between mechanics and other engineering and scientific branches, and a platform for young Chinese mechanics students to grow up and promote cooperation with China's major engineering construction.
From 2021, Chinese Journal of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics will be published monthly. Existing columns: 1. Research Review; 2. Themed Articles; 3. Fluid Mechanics; 4. Solid Mechanics; 5. Dynamics and Control; 6. Biomechanics and Interdiscipline; 7. Reminiscence of Mechanical Characters, etc.
The average publishing period in online version is within 3 months, in paper version within 5 months. Once accepted for publication, the paper will be published on CNKI within 24 hours.
