Numerical simulation of random wave-induced near-shore currents

  • Near-shore currents induced by the irregular water wavesand their breaking were numerically simulated based on the parabolic mildslope equation and near-shore current model. The unidirectional incidentirregular wave was first put into being discrete with the Jonswap wavespectrum and then simulated using the parabolic mild slope equation toobtain the wave radiation stresses with the effects of the wave irregularityand breaking. The breaking-wave-induced near-shore currents werenumerically simulated to further validate the numerical model. The numericalresults show that the model can be applied to study thebreaking-wave-induced currents.
