Abstract:
This paper investigates the ultimate failure behavior of[0/90/0]crossplylaminates under uniaxial tension.A modified shear-lag model is first proposed for solvingthe stress redistributions due to both the failure of the 90° ply and the breakage of somefibers in the 0° plies. Next,the random critical-core probability model is used to analyzemicroscopically the ultimate failure of crossply laminates.
