Abstract:
Dynamic testing is one of the major approaches tounderstand the dynamic properties of structures. Consequently, sensorplacement has great effects on the collection of sufficient information inthe testing, even to be the decisive factor for the experimental resolutionin dynamic modal analysis. In the paper, a new sensor placement method isdeveloped on the basis of mode independence and principal subset selection.The present method is uniterative and efficient for that the sensorpositions are determined all at once. Moreover, four evaluation criteriawere proposed and numerical simulations were performed with an antenna modelto validate the feasibility of the developed method.
