Abstract: In this paper, the nonlinear stability criteria in the sense of Movchan for the permanent rotations of axisymmetric heavy gyroscopes in the presence of perfect dissipa-tive force are given. The main subdomains of the regions of asympototic stability are given and the bifurcation phenomena are discussed in detail.
