Abstract:
Under the leadership of Tsien Hsue-shen, the Chinese Journal of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CJTAM), which is the oldest comprehensive journal of mechanics founded in 1957, has witnessed the development track of Chinese mechanics discipline and the growth of several generations of Chinese mechanics talents since the 1950s. This paper utilized the bibliometric indicators to analyse the output and discipline influence of CJTAM from its inception to the present, and used the data to illustrate its contribution to the development of Chinese mechanics and the exchange of academic achievements. Firstly, we sorted out the amount of papers, the institutes and the authors published in CJTAM; Afterwards, its ranking among the journals of mechanics was analysed; Finally, we analysed the characteristics of the content of the paper, including the distribution of major disciplines and the research hotspots of recent publications.
